VSM was formed in 1986 by marketing and sales strategist Edward Geopfert. Prior to forming VSM, Ed was awarded senior salesman of the year by the Richardson Vicks, giving them the biggest increase in sales Richardson Vicks had ever seen. Building on his experience with Richardson Vicks, Ed helped launch Oil of Olay for the Olay Company, Maxi Pads for Tampax Inc., The Today Contraceptive Sponge for VLI Corp., Mentor Condoms for the Mentor Corp., Orange Mate Room Fresheners for Orange Mate Inc. and a complete line of hair coloring products, Color Oops, no gray and Splat for DeveloPlus Inc.
